Current Master of Health Administration students participated in the 9th Annual UAB Health Administration Case Competition. The competition was held February 26 – 27, 2015 and included teams from 38 universities and over 200 students. The University of Florida Team was comprised of second year MHA students Monique Del Rossi-Goulet, Frank Sortino and Ashley Tighe. Observers included first year students Athena Tingberg and Savannah Humphreys. The competition “provides graduate students from CAHME-accredited health administration programs an opportunity to put what they have learned into practice with a real-life, real-time case.” This year the case study prompted the students to consider and formulate the implementation of a comprehensive respiratory center for the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH). The students had approximately three weeks to develop this strategic and operational plan to present to leaders in the healthcare industry. The judges complimented this year’s team for their powerful presentation through the use of storytelling and getting the message across. Overall, it once again proved to be a rewarding experience for the students.
