Cindy Toth has served on the adjunct faculty in the UF Department of Health Services Research, Management and Policy since 2009. In July 2011, she assumed responsibilities as Associate Director of the MHA Program focusing on curriculum development and integration. In the field, Cindy is currently consulting in the areas of rehabilitation services, physician practice development and health care operations.
After earning the Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Science degrees from UF in 1988, Cindy worked for Shands Health Care until 2004. In that capacity, she served as Director of Operations at Shands UF and later as the administrator of Shands’ community-based hospitals (Shands Rehab Hospital, Shands Vista Recovery Center Psychiatric Hospital, and Shands at AGH acute care hospital). From 2004 to 2008, Cindy was a senior administrator of a 60-physician private physician group practice that also provided comprehensive diagnostic and ancillary services in 7 locations in north central Florida.
Ms. Toth entered health care in 1976 after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University. She worked in treatment and leadership capacities for 8 years for the Sharp Health Care System in San Diego, CA before relocating to Gainesville, FL in 1984.
