HSRMP alumnae inducted into Delta Omega

The UF Chapter of Delta Omega, the national Public Health Honor Society, held its annual luncheon and inductions of new members on May 3 at Sweetwater Branch Inn. Ms. Kendra Auguste, who completed her MPH in Public Health Management and Policy in 2013, was inducted as an alumni member. Kendra is currently completing her doctoral degree in the College of Journalism and Communications, with a focus in health communications.  Previously, she has worked in various roles serving families and communities throughout the state. She has provided community nutrition education and exercise classes to county residents as a health education consultant with CHOICES; served as Program Coordinator for Healthy Start’s Maternal, Infant, and Early Childcare Home Visiting program; and, most recently, has lead a team of public health specialists in implementing nutrition and physical activity supports in low resource communities with UF/IFAS Extension’s Family Nutrition Program. She has added to both research and practice by presenting on these interventions at several national conferences.
