Brian Tisher appointed as first UF Master of Health Administration (MHA) Executive-in-Residence


The University of Florida (UF) College of Public Health and Health Profession’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program proudly announces Brian Tisher, MBA/MHS, as its inaugural Executive-in-Residence.

This newly established role is set to enrich the academic experience for UF MHA students, fostering their growth under the guidance of a seasoned professional in the healthcare administration field.

Dr. Lee Revere, Professor and Florida Blue Endowed Chair in the UF Department of Health Services Research, Management and Policy, expressed enthusiasm for this strategic addition to the faculty.

“The Executive-in-Residence position will be an invaluable addition to our UF MHA program, enabling our students to benefit from the guidance of an experienced industry leader who will contribute to the enhancement of our program development,” said Dr. Revere. “We are eager to collaborate with Brian in his new integral role.”

As a 1994 alumnus of the UF MHA program, Brian Tisher brings a personal commitment to the program’s success. His passion for supporting students in their professional development aligns with the program’s mission to train early health administration careerists for management and leadership roles.

“I look forward to sharing my unique pathway to help support the needs of our MHA students to develop professionally and to embark in successful careers in the healthcare administration field,” Tisher shared.  

In his capacity as Executive-in-Residence, Tisher will serve as faculty support for UF MHA case competitions, assist with course syllabi, and provide advisory services to UF MHA students among other responsibilities. His extensive executive experience includes leadership roles in hospital and physician management settings, as well as diverse experiences in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, including academic medical centers.

“Tisher’s diverse background equips him to provide effective insights and mentorship to our students, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities in the dynamic field of healthcare administration,” added Dr. Keith Benson, UF MHA Program Director.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Tisher enjoys cultivating hops, relishes a dose of Chick-fil-A, and cherishes making memories with his daughter and his red dog, Cooper.

The University of Florida warmly welcomes Brian Tisher to the MHA program as Executive-in-Residence and looks forward to the positive impact his expertise and mentorship will have on the program and its aspiring healthcare leaders.
