I want to celebrate two exciting items in this edition!

First and foremost, we want to recognize our student success in securing job offers, fellowships, and internships.

The UF MHA Class of 2025 has earned fellowships and jobs at Broward Health, Emory Healthcare Finance, HCA Fort Walton Beach, MD Anderson, SCA Health (2), UC-Irvine, UF COM Anesthesiology, UF Health Jacksonville (2), UF Health Shands, and Malcom Randall VA Medical Center (3 GHATPs).

Multiple students successfully turned their internship opportunities into full-time positions after graduation, some of which include Segal Consulting, Centene, Telescope Health, and UF Health OSMI. The remaining students are currently in the active interviewing stage.

Every student in the UF MHA Class of 2025 had secured a great internship opportunity by Spring Break! We had more internship requests than we did for students to fill the opportunities.

Additionally, our UF MHA Students have been preparing diligently for case competitions, and their hard work has paid off with great success! Our last five teams have advanced in the 2023 OSU First-Year Case Health Administration Competition, the 2023 Everett V. Fox Student at N.A.H.S.E., the 2024 UAB Health Administration Case Competition, the 2024 OSU First-Year Case Health Administration Competition, and the 2024 ACHE of South Florida Healthcare Leader Development Case Competition

The 2024 UAB team placed first, the 2024 OSU team placed fifth, and the 2024 ACHE of South Florida team placed second.

While the students do the hard work, a special thank you is owed to the Faculty Advisor, Dr. Ara Jo, and our Executive-in-Residence, Pr. Brian Tisher, in addition to the many coaches who assist the students. This is a genuine team effort for which we are collectively grateful and proud.

Secondly, I want to celebrate the reenergized UF MHA Advisory Council. Suneel Modani, Leilani Johnson, Mary Kate Flynn, and Carlton Innis are spearheading the effort to build an impactful and sustainable advisory board which benefits the students and alums of the UF MHA Program. For more information, please see the UF MHA Advisory Board Announcement.

Congratulations to all our students on their remarkable accomplishments! Your achievements inspire us and reaffirm our commitment to fostering excellence and empowering future generations of leaders.

We continuously receive updates that make us proud to be a part of the UF MHA family. If you want to share exciting news or be featured, please contact our Marketing Coordinator, Sara Mayo (sara.mayo@phhp.ufl.edu).

Best wishes and Go Gators!
