  Andrew Borrelli

 Andrew Borrelli grew up in Davie, Florida. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management. Since graduating in December of 2017, Andrew has worked toward earning his private pilot license as well as volunteer in the Pediatric Emergency Room at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. In the Pediatric Emergency Room, he assisted the staff with non-medical tasks and provided comfort to patients to help get them through their stay. Andrew’s time in the ER spurred a passion for public service and influenced him to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Management and Policy. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys traveling, photography, and hanging out with friends.

Harrison_Brown Harrison Brown

Harrison Brown is from Vero Beach, Florida, and has earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida. He enjoys playing tennis, and is currently an Emergency Medicine Scribe at UF Health Shands Hospital.

Ana Calderon Ana is of Tampa, Florida, with proud Cuban heritage. She pursued the Combined BS/MPH Degree Program, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology in Spring of 2016, and her MPH in Spring of 2017. An aspiring physician, Ana’s training in Health Policy and Management will serve to enhance her abilities as a voice for her future patients, and as a leader in the healthcare field. She has a unique interest in nutrition and patient empowerment, hoping to one day incorporate both into a style all her own. In her spare time, Ana loves to stay active by exploring new places, dancing, and cooking, whilst also spending quality time with family and friends.

Courtney Eggleston

Courtney Eggleston, is originally from Glen Carbon, Illinois, although now resides in north Georgia. Before moving to Georgia, she also lived in Florida and Tennessee. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in May 2018, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health, with a concentration in Health education and Promotion. Courtney’s research interests include the Opioid Epidemic, as well as, making healthcare more accessible and affordable to everyone. She ultimately wants to work at the VA (Department of Veterans Affairs) with veterans suffering from addiction and substance abuse. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys traveling, attending various sporting events, and is always up to experience new coffee shops.

Sadok Amine Ben Hassine

Sadok Amine ben Hassine was born and raised in the city of Sousse in Tunisia. In 2017, he obtained a Medical Doctor degree from the faculty of medicine in Sousse – Tunisia. After that he was selected for a Fulbright scholarship to study a Master of public health with a concentration in Health management and policy at the University of Florida. Sadok hopes to be able to help ameliorating the healthcare planning in his country. As a student, he was very involved in students associations’ work and had done several internships abroad. Sadok enjoys travelling and is fond of old cars. His preferred moments are deep discussions over a glass of good red wine.

Allison Phillips Allison Phillips was raised in Ocala, Florida, although originally from Jacksonville. She graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa with a Bachelors in Health Sciences and concentrations in both Biomedical and Behavioral Health. Allison also graduated with a minor in Creating Writing and with honors. Pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health is important to Allison for her future success as a potential Health Administrator. The settings that most interest her to work in as a Health Administrator are nursing homes or mental health facilities, which aligns with her previous volunteer shadowing experiences. A few recreational activities that Allison enjoys are running, crafting and visiting theme parks.

 Zachary Sandoval

Zachary Sandoval is a fourth-year undergraduate at the University of Florida from Lakeland, Florida. He is majoring in Biology and Psychology, in addition to pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health. In college, Zach volunteers with Footprints Buddy and Support Program, a specialized volunteering organization at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and works directly with pediatric oncology and hematology patients. He also does research on immunotherapy treatments for pediatric osteosarcoma at UF’s College of Veterinary Medicine. In the future, Zach hopes to attend medical school; later on, he intends to advise public policy as it pertains to cancer, especially in third-world countries, such as the Philippines where his family is from. He is primarily interested in pediatric oncology treatments and cancer prevention policies that address risk factors and promote early screening. In his free time, Zach likes to play tennis, likes exploring cities, and enjoys cooking.

Heather Nicole Wert

Heather Wert grew up in New Port Richey, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management and a minor in Entrepreneurship. Since 2011, Heather has been employed at Contracts and Grants, where she manages grant funding for the University of Florida. She decided to combine her experience in business and her passion for health care by pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health. Heather is primarily interested in operations management, with a focus on creating efficiencies within healthcare organizations. In her spare time, Heather loves to participate in triathlons, is an avid global traveler, and a lover of good chocolate.
