About Noah Hammarlund
Noah Hammarlund, MS, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Health Services Research, Management & Policy. Noah completed his PhD in policy with a focus on health economics, statistics, and machine learning at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Oregon. He was a National Library of Medicine fellow in informatics and a postdoctoral fellow at the CHOICE Institute at the University of Washington.
Noah’s research applies econometric approaches and innovations in artificial intelligence to improve inequities in healthcare. He also investigates how the application of artificial intelligence can benefit patients as well as its potential to perpetuate and even worsen existing inequities. His disease focus centers on cancer, particularly prostate cancer. Noah is a member of numerous interdisciplinary research teams that include economists, computer scientists, engagement scientists, biostatisticians, informaticists, and clinicians.
