ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL IN LONG TERM CARE?
Project Summary
The University of Florida has led efforts to support and educate Nursing Homes and Long Term Care facilities in infection control and prevention. This 22-month project was funded by the State of Florida, Department of Health through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Nursing Home and Long Term Care Facility Strike Team and Infrastructure Initiative.
As a part of the project, the UF team and our educational partners* have:
- Conducted a needs assessment survey to understand the state of infection control and prevention in Nursing Homes and Long Term Care facilities across Florida.
- Created a best practices manual and resource guide for infection prevention and control in Nursing Home and Long Term Care facilities
- Hosted educational Learning Collaboratives for Nursing Home and Long Term Care employees to learn and share best practices
- Provided ongoing education, training materials, resources, and mentorship for participants seeking knowledge and skills to improve their processes and facilities
Through the Learning Collaboratives, our team has provided enriching opportunities to bridge current knowledge gaps, share best practices, and improve the overall state of participating Nursing Homes and Long Term Care facilities.
*UF has partnered with RB Health Inc. and Alliant Health Solutions to co-create some of the educational materials.
