    Topics: Purpose of surveillance, creating a surveillance plan, regulatory requirements.
    Learning Objectives: Describe the importance of surveillance in healthcare.
  1. The How-To of Surveillance” 
    Date: Wednesday, July 5, 2023
    Time: 1:30 PM EST    
    Topics: Methods of surveillance, Surveillance case definitions versus clinical case definitions.
    Learning Objectives: List the steps involved in carrying out infection prevention and control surveillance. 
  1. “How to Communicate Surveillance Results to Stakeholders”
    Date: Wednesday, July 12, 2023
    Time: 1:30 PM EST 
    Topics: Communication plans for individual stakeholders
    Learning Objectives: Identify best practices in visual and oral presentation of surveillance results to diverse stakeholders. 
  1. “Introduction to Outbreaks”

    Topics: What are outbreaks, and how do you know you have one? 
    Learning Objectives: Identify surveillance results that may indicate an outbreak.
  1. “Responding to Outbreaks”

    Topics: Best practices for responding to outbreaks.
    Learning Objectives: Describe the steps that should be taken to identify and control outbreaks; write up and publish. 
  1. “Creating an Outbreak Preparedness Plan”

    Topics: What do participants need to develop their response plan?
    Learning Objectives: Summarize the elements that should be included in an outbreak preparedness plan.
